Motion Picture Still Photography
A movie still(s) photographer is a photographer who usually works on set but is not directly involved in the making of a film/movie. They are usually employed by the movie's publicity team to take photographs to help publicize the movie in posters, magazines, newspapers, and other media. The photographer will also take photos of the actors and sets separately, as well as some "behind the scenes" photos that are often found on DVD extras. He/she may also be required to take photos of the actors in a studio, possibly in their costumes. Sometimes these photos will be composited with several other images or artwork to make a new image that might be used in a poster, for example.

Advertising/ Commercial Photography
Advertising and Commercial photography is probably best defined as any photography for which the photographer is paid for images rather than works of art. Wholesale, retail, and professional uses of photography would fall under this definition. Photographs made to illustrate and usually sell a service or product. These images, such as packshots, are generally done with an advertising agency, design firm or with an in-house corporate design team.

Editorial/ People Photography
Photographs made to illustrate a story or idea within the context of a magazine. These are usually assigned by the magazine, used for social media, advertising in brochures, and on websites.

Event Coverage
Event photography consists of commercial/ corporate events, parties, sports, graduactions, weddings, tradeshows, concerts, music festivals, film festivals and etc. Each event has it's own considerations, time, hours needed, traveling time, turn around and etc.

Utah Wedding Photography
Cass Studios provides both Traditional and Photojournalistic coverage of one's wedding. Traditional wedding photography provides for more classically posed images and a great deal of photographer control and interaction on the day of the wedding. Photojournalistic wedding photography takes its cue from editorial reporting styles and focuses more on candid and unposed images with little photographer interaction.
“ I have fun shooting weddings. People are always happy, in love and the whole family gets together for a celebration. There are alot of subtle moments in each wedding that make it unique and special- it’s all about the details, the flowers, rings, dresses suits, the venue, the laughter, the dancing, and the people. I get along well with families of all backgrounds. I have fun with people, my jokes are at the hip and mostly ridiculous but it gets people to laugh, I get to know their stories, what makes them different and display that through the imagery. By the end of the celebration I feel like I have become part of the family. I enjoy making folks happy with my images. What I like about the photography is I am creating a heirloom that stays with people long after I am gone.” Natalie

Model Photography- Portfolio Development
When it comes to modeling, your portfolio serves as your resume and showcases your body of work. Whether you are signed to an agency or are a freelance model, putting together your portfolio is one of the most important aspects of your career. Before even attempting to put together a modeling portfolio, it is important to know what type of modeling you can do. Freelance models have greater flexibility in this area but should focus on a main category they will receive the most work in. If you do glamour or swim wear, then those are the types of photos you should have in your portfolio. High fashion models should have high fashion images in their books (another term for portfolio). Be realistic. If you are too short for fashion, stick to commercial/print and lifestyle images.

Acting Headshots- PR Photos for Social Media
In the same way others may use business cards, an actor or model's marketing tool of choice is a large glossy photograph known as a "head shot." An actor's head shot is often accompanied by his or her résumé, listing all previous acting experiences, educational background, special skills and contact information. Following an audition, an actor may be asked to leave at least one copy of his or her head shot with the casting director or producers. An actor without a head shot may soon be forgotten during the casting process, so having a sufficient number on hand at all times is vital.
